Captain Don Dingman, host of the TV Show “Hook the Future” and long-time Captain, leads educational and entertaining fishing clinics at major boat shows and events across the Southeast. Don has a passion for teaching thousands of families annually how to succeed in fishing, while spending quality time in the outdoors with people you love.
At the end of each clinic kids will have an opportunity for questions and answers followed by a kids-only free raffle with dozens of great prizes. Kids (clinic participants only) will go home with a free Hook the Future/ Carolina Skiff custom rod & reel combo.

The Gamecock Bass Fishing Team was formed to allow college students the opportunity to enjoy the sport of competitive bass fishing at the college level. The team has been fishing the BASS, MLF, ACA and SC college trails for the past several years and are two-time national champions. Come meet the team at the Columbia Boat Show!

Join La’Tonya Blanding for a hands-on introduction to essential fishing skills, lure selection, and knot tying. Attendees will gain practical knowledge and confidence to make better gear choices and improve their fishing success.

Michael Franks’ connection to fly fishing runs deep. Introduced to fishing by his grandfather at an early age, Mr. Frank now has nearly 40 years of fly fishing & fly-tying experience. As a career educator, Mr. Frank has the requisite patience to teach all aspiring fly fishers. Be sure to stop by his booth in the Moore Building for a few practical tips for your next trip!

Chris Reed is a full time musician based out of Columbia, S.C. His genres consist of Blues, Rock, Funk, and Jazz with an affinity for Big Band and Swing music. You can see him solo Acoustic, as the lead guitarist and singer of his own band “The Bad Kids” as well as alongside Mark Rapp in the Mardi Gras driven “Soda City Brass Band”.

New Nantahala Strings is a local bluegrass band comprised of enthusiastic musicians hoping to make good music and put smiles on people’s faces wherever they go, focusing on new renditions of traditional bluegrass songs, gospel songs, and a growing number of originals. The band is currently made up of Gabe Collier (Guitar), John Cassidy (Percussion/Banjo), Sydney Apperson (Fiddle), Lincoln Buchanan (Fiddle/Mandolin), Luke Bomar (Bass), and Macy Skillman (Mandolin)
